Pulling my old Nikon D100 out of storage. Special effect programs?

    I never used Nikon creative 3.5 but have it somewhere. Is this or any other programs good for special effects on digital photos. Was looking for something to give a star effect on bright lights. Is Nikon creative worth installing? Maybe there is a download FREE to do some special effect photography work. Thanks Ron

    Both Irfanview and Picasa are free, and can include effects filters. These are built into Picasa, with Irfanview I think you have to do a 2nd download and install of an effects plugin library.

    You can choose either Photoshop or picasa for adding effect to your digital photo
