Samsung's new Digimax U-CA 5 is a reasonably priced, compact, and lightweight five-megapixel digital camera. It's a stylish silver digicam with gray, red, or blue trim. The U-CA 5 features a 3x optical zoom, a 1.8 inch LCD screen (but no optical viewfinder), a super macro mode (minimum focusing distance is 2 inches), a focus aid beam for low light shooting, and a 640x480 @ 30fps movie mode.

Samsung markets the U-CA 5 as an ideal first digital camera, so the Auto (Point & Shoot) mode is especially suited to beginners. More advanced shooters (and beginners -- as their photographic skills develop) can switch to the U-CA5's Manual (Program) mode and adjust ISO, white balance, image sharpness, and exposure compensation to fine-tune their exposures.

We'll be posting a full review soon, so check back for the full detail about this camera. If you have any questions, use the "discuss this story" link at the bottom of this page. We'll attempt to address any questions in the review.
