    Hi,

I just registered as I'm trying to find my way in the ocean of things on offer and feel quite lost, as sales are coming up I guess this would be as good a time as any.

I've been using, and having fun with, a Panasonic Lumix GMK1 for a few years, but realised I'd love to have something small I could throw in my handbag for those inspirational moments I might encounter every day and the Lumix is just too big.

I saw the post about how to ask and am following it to the letter hoping someone will help me, please bear in mind I'm in Europe, and though I'm not allergic to online shops/ebay I'd rather avoid customs.

    Budget: around 150$

    Size small (woman handbag-friendly please :) )

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 10 sounds about good

What optical zoom will you need? Standard = 3x-4x

How important is “image quality” to you? 7

Do you care for manual exposure modes (shutter priority, aperture priority, manual)? No

What will you generally use the camera for? Daily inspiration, spur of the moment

Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? No, no prints

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? Hard to say, but not just indoors

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? No

Are there particular brands you like or hate? Not really

Are there particular models you already have in mind? No

Do you need any of the following special features? Video facility with sound would be a plus

    Thanks for any advice, best,

    Chiara

Look for a small camera with a CMOS sensor for superior low light shots. Here are a some good ones that may be in your price range:
    Canon: Elph 520 HS (Ixus 500), Elph 510 (Ixus 1100), Elph 530 (Ixus 510), Elph 330 (Ixus 255)
    Sony: WX80, WX50
    Nikon: S5200, S6300, S6500
