    I am looking for a software that can copy Date Modified attribute and place it into EXIF Date Taken. I had a old cellphone back in 2007, and I noticed non of my files have date taken in their EXIF. Luckily the files were not modified since then, so I can just copy last modified and place it into EXIF date.
    I tried Exifer, it does have ability to extract date.
    Same with jhead.

    XnView can do it individually or as a batch job. It's a free program.

    And to be even more clear, it can use the Date Modified attribute from the file or the EXIF, and copy it to the EXIF Date Taken.

    Thanks. xnview looks great, but I can't figure out how to batch edit EXIF information. Batch Convert does not have this function, and I can't even find where to view Exif information. :(

    It's not in the Batch Processing, or named all that well.

    Tool -> Change Timestamp...

    In the Use box, select EXIF: Date modified or File modified date, depending on which one you actually want.

    In the Change box, select the EXIF: Date taken checkbox.

    Thanks leaftye,
    I apologize for not replying earlier, but I never got my notification e-mail.

    Anyway, I just tried it now, but when I hit Apply, it doesn't do anything, it just stays the way it is. There is no modification or progress... :confused:
