I have an SP-510UZ and this is my second Olympus digital camera. My first was an Olympus C730UZ. Both have had problems handling darker areas in the photos. It comes out grainy (my term, I am not a professional). Can this be corrected? I am saving the images at "SHQ 3072x2048. Are there other settings that I need to adjust?

    Thanks for any help.

This looks to me like noise from a high ISO. Do you know what the ISO setting was, or is it automatic?

Unfortunately, this is the trade-off for low light shooting performance. You can try locking the ISO down to 200/400 or lower, but if there's not enough available light, the shutter speed will be too slow to land a sharp shot.
