I'm happy to report that I found a usb shutter release cable that works. I found various threads around the internet with people asking if a device like this would work with the S9000 and now I know it works, and works perfectly. At half depression the camera focuses and uses the focus assist light, and then it takes the picture at full depression. I've tried it with four test shots, all with auto focus and focus assist light enabled. Full manual 15 second exposure. Same settings, 30 second exposure. Aperture priority with & without flash. Anyway, here is the link on e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Shutter-Release...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 Now I can't say for sure that it'll work with the S100FS, but I think it's a good sign that it works with the oldest camera, the S9000.
