My main browser is IE6. Of course that no longer works with some of the lastest stuff, then I switch to Firefox 1.5

Are you serious or kidding everyone?

The mozilla is the best open source, free, secured web browser with tons of addons in my opinion.

Err, why would I kid? Why is open source important (I am a retired software engineer)? Free is also true for IE (with any Win OS) and Firefox. Secured is off my radar, I've not experienced any security issues. But I don't do my banking online either. Addons just addon to my confusion. I view a browser as a utility, not an end in itself. The simpler the better.

I use Firefox but I've been thinking about giving Chrome a try.

I enjoy it. I don't use plug ins, but Chrome just feels fast to me. I know its not ground breaking, but the all in one bar is nice too.

open source is not important itself but I believe when something is open source and a lot of people contribute on the code , it will be less buggy and will have less security issues or found sooner for the end user.

I agree with you to some extent. but some addons really make life easier. of couse I am not speaking about the bells and whistles.

Also I am disappointed with the newer versions of IE.

Unfortunately google is not really linux friendly.

I've tried opera in the past. it is reasonably fast also.

That is perfectly understandable. It's not that I am a raving fan of IE (or Microsoft for that matter). It gets the job done, which is all I ask. I've stuck with the IE6 version because MS made it so the latest version will not run on Win2000, which is my OS. If/when I ever get around to Win7 it may well be that the latest IE leaves me grumpy.
