What camera should I buy that would be best for photo enlargements? Enlargements at least in size of 11x13. I am an amatuer at all of this, but want a good digital camera like a Canon or similar. Would megapixels be a deciding factor? Like the ideas of image stabilization and quality in low light. Like the ideas on being compact as well, with a rechargable battery. Suggestions please. Thanks.

A camera with 10 megapixels (or more) will be sufficient to produce a detailed 11x14 picture, which applies to 99% of the cameras on the market. But the overall quality of the image - sharpness, color fidelity, smoothness, lack of distortion - will depend on the overall quality of the camera. In general, the more you pay the better quality camera you'll get.

What is your upper price limit?

Probably $200 to $300. Would like something compact for my hiking purposes. Thanks for your reply.
