budget preferably around $200, but will spend up to 250

size Ultra compact, it will generally be carried in my front pocket. The slimmer the better(i wear slim fit jeans).

    Features

    megapixels- don't care
zoom- 3-4x is fine, but more would be great!
    image quality importance- 8/10
    manual mode- not necessary

General usage group shots, landscapes, action shots(snowboarding + skateboarding), some big prints, some low lighting

    Miscellaneous

    -sd memory
    -IS, optical preferably
-wide angle lens in the area of 28mm
-time lapse is also a cool feature but not a need

some models which i am currently looking at are:
FS5(what i am leaning towards buying)
R7(a little big, its expensive, and i cant see it in person before buying)
    s210(wish it had IS)
    sd1100(not wide angle)
    f50fd(not wide angle)

some models i have already decided against:
z1080- too wide, expensive, not wide angle
    s870- too big, expensive
    s600- expensive
s10- not wide angle, no IS, poor image quality, slow shot to shot, and i can get the better FS5 for $30 cheaper

all input is appreciated, im starting to go crazy just trying to pick one.

Considering what your needs are, I think the Panasonic FS5 is your best choice.
    Very good picture quality
    Good performance
    Good build quality
    Fairly wide angle
    Optical image stabilization

You can also have a look at the Panasonic FX35 which sports 25mm wide angle.

    Justin,

Do a search on the Panasonic TZ3. It offers a 28-280mm IS wide zoom 10x. Its got a 7MP sensor and a hi-res 3" LCD (no view-finder). I own one, and think it's a great camera. It's relatively small with a solid metal body. Power comes from a Li-Ion rechargeable battery. It's a great companion to my Pentax *ist DS dSLR. You should be able to find one for around $200 as its been replaced by the TZ5. Hopes this helps a bit.

Thanks for the input guys! Excellent suggestions.
usapatriot- The fx35 is a great camera that has exactly what im looking for, but unfortunately is on the expensive side(around 300), plus i can get the very similar fs5 for 200 shipped.
rp3s- TZ3 is another great camera but i fear it is a little big.
AndyfromVA- The fs5 is the model that i am most likely going to buy, thanks for the reassurance.

With the fx35 tz3 and fs5 all being very similar and great cameras, i think i am going to go with the fs5 due to size and price issues of the other two models.

but i am still open to more suggestions if you have any!

I was also wondering what the differences are(if any) between the fs5 and fs20, besides the LCD size and the available underwater casing and shooting mode of the fs5?
