Would it be wise to buy a refurbished Canon SD800IS for half the price of retail on ebay from a powerseller? with a 99.7 percent rating from 11000k comments?

How is the quality on a refurbished product?

That's a tough call. I think that it *may* be worth it if there's a decent warranty. A refurbed product should be able to be warrantied like a new one.

well it comes with a factory Nikon 90 day warranty. The quality of the actual body should be pretty much brand new right?

Hopefully, it's a Canon warranty - for the Canon camera. :)

If they sell it as a refurb, I would expect it to look brand new.

I tend to be wary of reburbs. Cheaper but the warranty is also shorter. If the company stands behind their refurbs then it should have the same warranty as new ones!
