According to a thread on The Online Photographer, famed lens manufacturing firm Carl Zeiss is running a teaser for a forthcoming new lens mount in its series of premium manual focus glass.

With Zeiss options already available for Nikon, Pentax, and Leica (as well as auto focus glass for Minolta/Sony) it's not clear what the target system for the new Z mount will be. The most obvious candidates in our estimation would appear to be either Canon EF or Four Thirds/Micro Four Thirds, or possibly a manual focus mount for Sony.

However it turns out, it looks likely that some new target market will stand to benefit from the availability of Zeiss's premium optics. We'll keep our eyes and ears open; expect more details to come during Photokina at the latest.
