Canon sx260hs or a nikon p510
We purchased the canon and am trying to decide if the nikon p510 would be a better overall
choice. The canon with a case and a 32gb memory cost 329.00 target has the nikon coolpix p510
on sale for 399.00.The ad doesn't say that it comes with a case. What is recommended to purchase
along with the nikon camera?
I know the canon is a good camera if you had the choice which one would you choose?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
grands

Re: Canon sx260hs or a nikon p510
They are different types of camera. The Canon SX260HS is a pocket-sized ultrazoom with a 20x lens. The Nikon P510 is a larger ultrazoom with a 42x lens. The Canon is probably better in low light but the Nikon offers more in all other respects. The Nikon has a much longer lens, a higher resolution LCD, an LCD that tilts, an electronic viewfinder, a faster lens (with a wider aperture), closer macro ability, a more powerful flash and faster continuous shooting speed.

I love the sound of that zoom. But in your opinion, does the image retain much good quality on a camera of that size with a zoom that huge? Or does it start to get noisy?

Re: Canon sx260hs or a nikon p510
Its image quality is surprisingly good, even at long range, through 800 ISO, though its high ISO performance is not quite as good as two of its long-zoom competitors, the Panasonic FZ200 and the Sony HX200v.
