Question Have a price limit and need camera ideas

So I have a $250 limit on getting a new camera. My mother in law bought us a go pro silver for Christmas but it is not the kind of camera I am looking for. I would like a really nice high quality camera that can possibly do burst shots. I have been looking at the Samsung Red WB100 and it has alot of things I like but I don't know about it. I would like a video camera or a nice camera that can shoot high quality video. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Most digital cameras can shoot high quality HD videos so you'll be fine in that respect no matter which camera you choose.

The WB100 was a good, small camera for its time (2009) but you'd be better off with a more modern camera with an advanced back-illuminated CMOS sensor that's better in low light and at burst shooting. Some small cameras that fit the description are the Samsung WB750 (large for a compact camera, 18x optical zoom, fast burst shooting, high end of your price range) the Canon Elph 310 HS and Elph 110 HS (the 310 has 8x optical zoom, the 110 has 5x, both have relatively slow burst shooting), the Nikon P310 (large for a compact, 4x optical zoom, low light specialist), the Nikon S6300 (10x optical zoom), and the Sony WX50 and WX150 (quick, fast burst shooting, 5x for the WX50, 10x for the WX150, WX50 is very tiny). All the above cameras are very good but I urge you to try them out personally as you'll find that they differ substantially in their interface and overall feel.

I recently tried out some of these cameras and decided to buy the Canon Elph 110 HS because of its small size, good image quality and nice interface. But burst shooting and high zoom weren't a priority for me.
