    Lightbulb Which camera to buy for the first time...

    Guys I have decided to buy a new camera on 5th January...So please guide me to select me the right one for me...

    Budget

    * within Rs. 13,500/-

    Size

    * Size not matter at all to me.

    Features

    How many megapixels will suffice for you?


    * Optical Zoom preference is minimum 12x optical zoom.

    * Image quality = 7-8 out of 10 (in the scale of 1 to 10)

    Do you care for manual exposure modes (shutter priority, aperture priority, manual)?
    ans: No

    General Usage

    * What will you generally use the camera for?
    ans: normal photography for family tour or traveling purpose.

    * Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
    ans: No

    Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
    ans: yes

    Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
    ans: no

    Miscellaneous

    Are there particular brands you like or hate?

    I like Nikkon & Sony

    Are there particular models you already have in mind?
    I have decided to buy Nikkon coolpix L810.

    (If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)


    Primarily I have decided to buy Nikkon coolpix L810. But pls suggest me if it is the right choice or similar products of other brands....

    The Nikon L810 is a good camera but there are some things to be aware of. It uses 4 AA batteries, it's a fairly heavy camera, it's slow to focus and its shot-to-shot time is slow as well - about 3 seconds, 4-5 seconds when the flash is used. The L810 has nice image quality, though.

    Two other rivals you may want to consider are the Olympus SP620UZ and the Fuji SL300. They should both be about the same price as the Nikon L810. The Olympus is very similar to the L810. The Fuji has more zoom, an electronic viewfinder and runs on a rechargeable battery. The Olympus and Fuji are not particularly quick cameras either.
